What is Gestalt Premium?
If you don't want to create an API key, you can subscribe for $1.99 per month to generate captions. This pays for the developer's API connection to Anthropic. (And if you're a Beta tester, you won't actually be charged if you subscribe!)
Can I use my own API key?
Yes! In Settings, choose "Use my own key" and enter your OpenAI or Anthropic API key. (You'll need either a Claude Console or an OpenAI Platform account with at least a nominal amount of credits to use that API. Each image caption costs less than 1ยข, so a few bucks will last you a long time.)
What AI models are used?
Gestalt Premium subscribers use Claude Sonnet 4 by Anthropic. If you bring your own API key, you can choose between Claude Sonnet 4 or GPT-4o by OpenAI.
